Our spacious home is an easy 2 1/2 hour drive from the Twin Cities. We would like to invite you to visit our cottage on Lac Courte Oreilles. It will offer you and your family the perfect North woods getaway. Our charming cottage has 3 bedrooms that comfortably sleep 6. It also has a kitchen/dining area, living room, bathroom, and a lakeside screened porch. Out the steps from the screen porch there is a level front lawn that flows right up to the lake. Many lake rentals look nice in pictures, but once you arrive you discover that the home is elevated. There may be 50 (or more!) stair steps to the water! Not so with our place. Once you leave our cottage there is just 20 level feet until you are on the dock. Aside from its own private 120 feet of level lake frontage, other outside amenities include a fire ring near the water’s edge, lawn furniture, a hammock, 2 bench swings, a charcoal grill, and a smoker. Your stay also includes the use of a swim raft and kayaks. Our lake, Lac Courte Oreilles, is over 5 miles long and is approximately 5,000 acres. It is the largest natural lake in the county. It’s well known for excellent fishing, water sports, sailing and exploring. At our location, the bottom gently tapers from nothing at shore, to 3 feet deep at the swimming area at the end of the dock. From there it continues to gently taper out into deeper water. There is an excellent pan fishing spot right in front of the neighbor’s dock. Depending on your casting ability – you can fish right from our dock! Or, simply head out in one of the kayaks. The water is absolutely crystal clear ALL year long. No muck! Additionally, there are two really fun restaurants on the lake. Angler’s has amazing pizza and drinks and Trail’s End has an expansive deck and live music. The kids like their sand beach and playground. Come join us and have a memorable family vacation. Our beach and lakefront lawn are nearly level and flow right up to the home which is just 75’ from the water’s edge. There are just two steps from the main floor to the lawn. Runamuk has a sandy swimming beach, sandy bottom, and our lake has a gentle sloping bottom. At the end of our dock it’s about 4’ deep. Durphee Lake is excellent for pan fishing right off the dock or out in your fishing boat. It’s big enough for power boats and jet skis (personal watercraft) but quiet and low-traffic enough to enjoy the great outdoors. Be sure and ask about our pontoon or fishing boat rental to augment your stay. Housekeeping, Linens, Towels, etc.: Along with the fully-equipped kitchen we will provide dish washing & dishwasher soap, trash bags, outside large – capacity trash can, paper towels, kitchen towels, bath and beach towels, etc., as well as all linens. To ensure consistent standards Runamuk has a mandatory cleaning service requirements. Guests are still required to clean the grill, empty trash cans, and replenish firewood in the woodhouse from the bulk wood behind the garage. The dishwasher should be started before guests leave. Beds should remain unmade as our staff will strip the beds and put clean sheets on. We ask our guests to put dirty linens in the provided hampers and to remove dirty sheets, pillowcases, etc. but leave them on the beds. Lac Courte Oreilles is also connected to Grindstone Lake which is over 3000 acres, and makes for a great day trip with light shallow hull boat or pontoon. The bottom gently tapers from nothing at shore, to 3 feet deep at the swimming area at the end of the new 30 foot 'L' shaped dock with large sitting area. From there it continues to gently taper out to about ten feet deep, and stays level for approximately 40 yards. This water is absolutely crystal clear ALL year long -drop a dime off the end of the dock and you can still see it! You will be hard pressed to find a finer vacation home in the area, and the location is perfect for all types of entertainment on water and off. This place has it all, too much to mention. We have several pontoon options we rent out to guests. We have two 2021 Benningtons, one with a 90 hp motor and one with 125 HP motors. We have several cabins on this lake so it's first come first server for the pontoon and it often books up early. Your Bayshore Retreat rental also includes a private dock to dock your boat. Additional water toys and boats are available to rent on the lake. Several well maintained public boat launches are also located near the cabin. Power is available at the lake shore for charging boat batteries etc. Fire pit and gas or charcoal grill- There is a nice fire pit by the lake for you to use during your stay. We also supply a Gas Grill on the upper deck for our guests to use free of charge. There are also lawn chairs by the lake and on the deck for your use while staying with us. Bayshore Retreat is located approximately 9 miles south of the city of Hayward. It's about 140 miles northeast of the Twin Cities Metro area. The Hatchery Creek Trailhead (Birkie Trail and CAMBA mountain Bike Trail access is also approximately 8 miles from the cabin. There is a casino nearby as well as several wineries. Parking- you can park up to 4 cars as well as several boat trailers at Bayshore. Sorry, we do not allow camping in RVs on the property or tents. Looking to book more than 12 guests? Welcome to Hayward, one of Wisconsin’s best vacation spots. This area has it all...fishing, golfing, ATV trail-riding, dining, shopping. In winter: snowmobiling, ice fishing, fat-tire biking, and of course, miles of cross country ski trails. And what better place to enjoy it all from than our little hideaway. Enjoy sunrise and your morning coffee from the lakeside deck, or end your day with a campfire overlooking the lake, listening to the call of the loons. The Space: Our cabin enjoys beautiful lake views and 100 feet of private frontage on Gurno Lake, a small, quiet lake, without a developed boat launch, and consequently, very little fishing pressure. On most days you’ll probably see more loons and eagles than people. The provided canoe and two kayaks are the best way to explore the lake, and fish for walleye, largemouth, or crappies. We have great swimming as well. Recent high water has covered our beach, but we have a dock and steps into the water, providing easy access in and out. This is a very comfortable and complete cabin. A fully stocked kitchen provides the tools you’ll need for preparing just about anything. The open living/dining area has great views of the lake, as does the master bedroom. The two bedrooms, plus a living room futon provide enough sleeping space for up to six guests. The spacious bathroom includes a stand up shower and a large, jetted soaking tub. We provide high-speed WiFi internet, and a smart TV with access to network channels (YouTube TV), as well as Netflix, Disney Plus, and Pandora. A large wall AC unit in the master bedroom cools the entire cabin in the summer and a gas fireplace makes for a little extra warmth in winter. You'll also have access to on-site laundry, and enough garage space for one car, or a couple snowmobiles. Other things to note: As noted above, high water in recent years has covered our beach. If you would like to visit a public beach, we have a list of area beaches in the cabin. The Neighborhood: This is a quiet neighborhood and a lake that has no public access. We have many guests who enjoy the peacefulness our lake provides. Others get their big-water fix by trailering their boats a short distance to the nearby world-class lakes which surround us, including Round Lake, Lac Courte Oreilles (of world record Musky fame), and the Chippewa Flowage. If you don't have a boat, we can help you arrange for daily rentals on any of these lakes. Getting Around: We're only about 10 miles from the village of Hayward, and its many shops, restaurants, bars and essentials-markets, including a large grocery store (Market Place) and a Walmart. ATV and snowmobile trails are easily accessed from our property, and can take you all over northwestern Wisconsin.

It is self contained with a separate entrance, accessible by key pad. The kitchen is furnished with everything you need to make family meals including: coffee maker, toaster, stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer. Lots of dishes, pots and pans, cooking utensils and glasses/cups, silverware to meet your needs. We have two small den areas with TVs to watch DVDs on and excellent WiFi. We furnish all linens and towels. There are a lot of beds/futons to accommodate a large group. If you need anything else, just ask. We are an affordable solution for those on a budget. We don't iron our sheets, but if they are wrinkled, you know they are clean! Most likely I washed them and left them in the dryer a little too long. We are low-key and laid back here. The parties agree that rental payments shall be made to Schoolhouse Lake Cabin, with all transaction details, including terms of cancellation, specified, recorded, and processed by Airbnb or VRBO online reservation systems, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties. The parties further covenant and agree that: 1. The Lessees will not use nor permit any part of the premises to be used for any purpose other than a temporary vacation rental, including giving access to any other parties not specified in the booking through Airbnb or VRBO, without the written consent of the Lessors under penalty of forfeiture of this lease and deposit. 2. The Lessors or Property Manager may enter into and upon the premises at reasonable hours of the daytime to examine the same or to make such repairs or alterations therein as necessary for the preservation thereof, after proper notification of this intent to Lessees. 3. The Lessees will keep the said premises in as good repair as the beginning of this Lease and agree to assume financial responsibility for any damages or loss to the structure, furnishings, all amenities, and landscaping, unless damage by natural cause such as weather occurs. Costs, repair or replacement will be facilitated by debit of damage deposit and as an extra charge in addition to that, if necessary. 4. The Lessees agree that during the term of this Lease they will observe and conform to all Town Ordinances and Regulations, and the Rules and Regulations of School House Lake Cabin, as published on Airbnb and VRBO websites prior to booking, in Annex 2 of this Rental Agreement, and in the Visitor Guide provided upon arrival at the Cabin. Foremost among these regulations are specific Arrival and Departure Times, Quiet Hours, No Smoking/ No Parties Policy, Pet Fee Policy, the Care, Maintenance, and Return of Amenities as detailed in the School House Lake Cabin Visitor Guide and in Annex 1 of this Agreement, and, Approved Parking Places. Lessees are responsible for reading and understanding all Rules and agree to assume monetary responsibility for all associated fees for not adhering to all Rules and Regulations. 5. The Lessors warrant that the plumbing, heating, lighting systems, screens, and all appliances are in good working condition, and cost of repairs to any of these items will be borne by the Lessors, providing that such necessary repairs are not the fault of nor caused by negligence of the Lessees, in which event such costs or repairs will be borne by the Lessees. 6. If premises should be destroyed or become uninhabitable prior to lessees taking possession, funds received by Lessors or Agency will be returned to Lessees according to the stipulations and mediation of Airbnb and VRBO. 7. The Lessors agree to pay the cost of utilities such as water, electricity, and liquid propane, where these are involved, during the Lease period. The Lessors agree to provide linens, towels, pillows, and basic kitchen utensils, plating and cookware. Lessees are responsible for bringing comforters, blankets, and personal hygiene products. 8. Lessors will lease premises in neat and orderly condition, and use a professional cleaner to ensure cabin is ready for new guests. Lessees are responsible for reasonable cleaning up after themselves and to ensure premises, equipment, and household items are not heavily soiled or damaged at termination of Lease period, to satisfaction of Lessors or Agent. Lessees who bring pets, who have not paid a pet fee, and whose pet’s hair or dander that are picked up and discovered by post rental vacuuming will have the normal pet fee plus additional penalties removed from their damage deposit. 9. Outside ground maintenance such as lawn cutting, raking, pruning, etc will be the responsibility of Lessors, and Stonegate Condominiums. 10. THEY WILL ALSO ENSURE THAT THE BOAT BE RETURNED IN THE SAME STATE OF MOORING WITH RAIN COVER AS WHEN RECEIVED** Upon arrival to the Cabin, the Property Manager, Aleda McFarren, on behalf of the LESSOR, will conduct an inspection of the Monarch Fishing (Jon) Boat (herein after referred to as the Boat) in the presence of the Lessee, and will provide the Lessee instruction on how to operate the craft including the outboard motor. After the above has been performed, and if no objections or conflicts are identified, all parties agree to the following stipulations: The Lessor agrees to lease the following boat, outboard motor, and equipment: 1970 Monarch Flat Bottom Fishing (Jon) Boat 2018 Suzuki 20hp 4 Stroke Outboard Motor, with electric start and fuel injection 2016 Minn Kota Endura 40lb thrust Trolling Motor w deep cell battery THE LESSEE CERTIFIES THAT HE/SHE HAS EXAMINED THE CRAFT AND EQUIPMENT AND FINDS IT ACCEPTABLE AND SUITABLE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS LEASED. THAT HE/SHE WILL OPERATE THE CRAFT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS AS POSTED IN THIS AGREEMENT AND ACCORDING TO THE STATE OF WISCONSIN BOATING REGULATIONS, AND FURTHER CERTIFIES THAT HE/SHE HAS READ AND UNDERSTANDS ALL SAID RULES AND REGULATIONS. The Lessee agrees that he/she is voluntarily participating in all activities related to the rental, operation, or use of the rental equipment.
